Dead by Daylight is a Sinking Ship: The Playerbase, The Mechanics, The Developers -- Is It Even Possible to Save?

We are all aware that the most recent developer Dead by Daylight Q&A was nothing short of disastrous. Questions were dodged left and right, and it was made glaringly clear that the new lead game designer (and team overall) have no clue how their own game functions. Even worse, content creator Dowsey made a joke by quoting one of the lead game designer’s blatant misunderstanding of the game only to find that his Twitch streamer shirts had been manually removed the next day. This tweet was apparently considered “targeted harassment” and warranted the removal of his content-creator specific cosmetics. Originally it was speculated to just be another one of BHVR’s notorious mid-patch bugs, but it was soon confirmed that they take memes very seriously . I can only dream of being this petty. It’s absolutely pathetic and a juvenile response to genuine criticism that people have with the game. And yet, this was addressed as soon as they found out about it. They had the time to go and remo

Shrine of Secrets: January 25th - February 1st [130k BP CODE HERE]

Please ignore the fact that I've been MIA for a week; Runescape just released it's Leagues 3 event and I've been on that g r  i n d. Also ignore how I change the title format every week. I'm just keeping it spicy. Use code VK130UP for 130k bloodpoints!! As usual, the order is: left, top, right, bottom. Tenacity: You crawl 30/40/50% faster and can recover while crawling (Tapp lvl 30) This is a paid dlc perk and will likely be needed to complete some parts of the Saw tome. Balanced Landing: Reduces drop stagger by 75%, suppresses the 'grunt of exertion' from falling (the 'oof' noise that survivors make when they land), and allows you to break into a sprint of 150% speed for 3 seconds after falling from a height. Exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds. (Nea lvl 30) Corrupt Intervention: At the start of a trial, the 3 gens furthest away from you will be blocked for 80/100/120 seconds. (Plague lvl 30) Hangman's Trick: Gain a loud noise notification (the same a

Shrine Jan 18th-25th

OMG SORRY I'M LATE!! I was doing Dragon Slayer 2 in osrs and got my butt handed to me a few times by Vorkath. I watched a few guides and....kept getting my butt kicked but then I found one that explained it so well and in depth! If any of you are old school runescape players, the Youtuber Josh Strife Hayes is SUPER good at explaining things for people who don't know what they are doing. Anyways, I went from getting my ass kicked to kicking that big blue dragon ass. THANK YOU MR HAYES! MAY RNJESUS BLESS YOU WITH PLENTIFUL DROPS. Okay I went on a tangent but that dude saved me days of grinding out a certain gear set (Elite Void, for all you knowers) Onto the shrine!  (Left, top, left, bottom) Zanshin Tactics (Oni lvl 30): The auras of breakable walls, pallets, and windows are shown within 24/28/32m Deathbound (Pyramid Head lvl 40): When a survivor heals another survivor for the equivalent of 1 health state more than 32 meters away, they will scream, revealing their location an

The Giant Mole -- Sculpture!!

The Giant Mole (Talpidae wysonian) is a majestic creature with a pet rate drop of 1 in 3000. Which, surprisingly, isn't that bad.  Considering the mole is incredibly easy to kill, has no special mechanics, and cannot damage you whatsoever if you are praying protect from melee. He's definitely one of my favourite bosses and I REALLY want his pet version, so, until I get it, I made my own. Before he was painted, the discord server I'm in (the streamer I watch, see "Twitch Streamers I Recommend" or whatever I called that page) had it auto-flagged as "explicit content" because it looked a little...fleshy.  But after his fresh coat of paint, he was no longer auto-flagged. I'm excited to add his front claws and gloss him up with a glaze. I have a mole to kill in-game. Will update when I get my pet drop!

Shrine Jan 11th-18th

We have (right, top, left, bottom): Self-care, Bloodhound, Breakout, and Hex: Haunted Grounds. They are all from non-licensed characters. Not gonna sugar coat it, these are all bad. Bloodhound makes pools of blood glow brighter (same as you would see with Victor or while using the old father's glasses addon for Spirit). Haunted Grounds is hit or miss and survivors often hide when it pops, self care is a great killer perk, breakout is for memes. Self-Care: Can heal yourself without a medkit, but at 50% speed. Decreases Medkit usage by 10/15/20%. (lvl 40 Claudette) Bloodhound: Pools of blood are bright red and stay visible for 2/3/4 seconds longer. (lvl 35 Wraith) Breakout: when within 6m of a carried survivor, move with 5/6/7%  haste  and the carried survivor wiggles 50% faster (lvl 40 Yui) Hex: Haunted Grounds: Two lit totems spawn on the map. Both are traps which, when cleansed/blessed, cause the survivors to be exposed for 40/50/60 seconds. When one is broken, the other becomes

Dead by Daylight Leatherface Mask Removal

Man, there were some angry people when this news dropped. To be completely honest, I understand why  people were upset; those are his only free cosmetics, save for the bloody prestige cosmetics, but those really aren't free when you take into account the bloodpoints spent.  I also fully stand with people of colour who were harassed by racists using this mask for the purpose of being racist. If that means removing the masks, then I 100% support the decision because nobody should be harassed in such a manner. However -- it could have been done better. We didn't need  to remove the masks. They could have simply made them client-sided, so the people going against a Leatherface wouldn't see which mask was chosen, it would be whichever mask was equipped on their Leatherface, or just the default mask. It could have been done quietly and we would have been none the wiser. You would get each of these four masks by killing 25 survivors playing as the four original characters. It wa

Nioh 2: Little Things that I wish I had Known

Nioh 2 is an awesome game with a super well-done combat system. In fact, it's my favourite combat system of any game, ever. But that's not super important, I could gush about the things I love about it for ages -- although it certainly isn't perfect. Most of my gripes come down to story and characters, rather than gameplay. I digress.  Here are some cool tidbits that the game does not explicitly tell you.  For starters, if you look closely at a Rokurokubi (these fuckers) while his head is still...attached, you can see a small bit of "dark realm" around their necks, guaranteeing that he is no simple soldier and cannot be taken care of quickly of via bow/rifle. Hell, even a 506 base damage hand cannon to the face with the explosive round only took one to 1/2 health.  Secondly, during missions that feature lots of fire (The Frenzied Blaze comes to mind) there are often buckets of water that you can break to run through fire without taking damage. It only lasts a fe

Topics and Updates

I will mostly focus on my favourite games: Dark Souls trio, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Nioh 2, Dead by Daylight, Animal Crossing, the Pokémon series, Old School Runescape, and Skyrim, though I'm sure others will pop up from time to time. The Dead by Daylight Shrine of Secrets will be updated right as it changes, every Tuesday at 7:00 pm EST.  I'll probably talk about my dog. She's cute. An Australian Shepherd.  I also make polymer clay sculptures/charms, write stories and poetry, really expect anything. I just want a place to put my thoughts.

Intro

Do you ever feel like when you talk about something that you're interested in that nobody cares? Everyone around you wishes they didn't have to hear another word out of your mouth about this or that. I get that. I have friends and family, of course, but none of them share the passion I have for certain things and it often can feel like I have nobody to talk with aside from online communities. I like to talk about things I enjoy. I could talk for hours and hours about Dark Souls lore with no preparation just because it interests me so greatly. The general crowd, however, doesn't want to hear about hyper-convoluted "I read over 200 item descriptions and guessed the rest". Or lore from a game they have no interest in playing. Completely understandable. So I made this here "blog". I'm gonna write whatever I want and talk about the things I enjoy and perhaps someone will stumble upon here and be happy to read it because they too enjoy the same things as

Shrine (December 4th-11th)

Shrine (left, top, right bottom):  Pop Goes the Weasel: instantly regress 25% of a generators progress when you kick a gen. Activates for 35/40/45 seconds after hooking a survivor. (Clown lvl 40) Adrenaline: When all the gens are complete, you instantly heal one health state and run at 150% movement for 5 seconds. You will wake up if against Freddy. Will trigger even if you are already exhausted. Causes 60/50/40 secs exhaustion. (Meg lvl 40) Dead Hard: No. (David lvl 35) Hex: Undying: When another hex is cleansed/blessed, it's hex will be transferred to the Hex: Undying totem and keep any stacks it may hack accumulated. It will also show a survivor's aura when they pass within 2/3/4 m of a dull totem. (Blight lvl 40) These are all very good perks and all character's are bhvr originals (can be bought with shards). I would prioritize Pop for utility so buy that first and undying. DH and Adrenaline are both on free characters and so it's less advisable to get them off th
